Pitch deck grader

I use these questions to find gaps in a pitch deck. Answer yes or no based on what is in the deck today, and you get a specific fix for every no.

01 Can a reader tell what the company or deal does from the opening slide?
02 Does the deck name the customer, market or investor audience it is addressing?
03 Does it explain the problem or need being addressed?
04 Does it explain the product, service or asset?
05 Does it explain how the business or project works?
06 Does it distinguish facts from assumptions?
07 Does it show relevant progress or evidence?
08 Does it explain who is responsible for execution?
09 Does it show how much capital is being sought, if that applies?
10 Does it explain the intended use of proceeds?
11 Does it explain the proposed structure at a high level, if known?
12 Does it name the main risks or uncertainties?
13 Can a reader understand the financial assumptions and their source?
14 Is there a clear next step for an interested reader?
15 Have spelling, links, figures and names been checked for consistency?

How scoring works

Each yes scores one point, for a total out of 15. The score points to the gaps that affect how a reader understands the deck. It makes no pass, fail or compliance judgment.
